Toastmasters is a worldwide organization that teaches public speaking and leadership skills. Currently, there is not a chapter in Bainbridge. A chapter is made up of a group of at least 20 local people who follow a educational framework and meeting guidelines to help each other grow in the area of public speaking. Members of the group pay a small fee to be a part of the club, and meet once a month to practice their skills.
Dempsey, being a part of a group in Tallahassee years ago commented, "While public speaking is fear inducing for anyone involved, Toastmasters creates a very supportive, encouraging atmosphere."
The group is confident they will be able to find 20 people locally to start a chapter. Until then, they will continue to meet on the third Tuesday of the month from 6:00 - 7:00 pm at the Chamber of Commerce. The next meeting will be held on October 18th, 2022.
