The traditional end of the Carter Arts & Lecture Series will feature much more than music as ABAC Bainbridge introduces “Stallions on the Square” on Friday, April 19th. The ABAC Jazz Ensemble will perform along with The Jim Gasior Trio in a concert beginning at 6 p.m. at Bainbridge’s Downtown Square. An ABAC alumni tent will have a selection of refreshments and merchandise for alumni. Also, current students can stop by the tent for a special voucher that they can use for free treats at Scoops and The Bean Café.
Gasior is an Associate Professor of Jazz and Instrumental Studies at the New World School of the Arts in Miami. As a pianist and keyboardist, he has performed and recorded with international pop artists and groups such as Ricky Martin, Kelly Clarkson, Alih Jey, and Chayanne as well as jazz artists like Benny Golson, Slide Hampton, Freddie Hubbard, and others.
The ABAC Jazz Ensemble performs a broad range of musical styles such as swing, bebop, Afro-Cuban, bossa nova, fusion, and more. The group has done three European tours, performed for the opening of the Olympic Games, jazz festivals, and two World’s Fairs.
Chairs will be provided. You can also bring your own. Come enjoy a great dinner downtown, terrific music, and a wonderful atmosphere!
