Dear Chamber Members, You are invited to join us on Tuesday, May 5th at 10:00 a.m. at Earle May Boat Basin for a Time Capsule Ceremony in honor of the Chamber’s 100 Year Anniversary.

Back in January, we gathered at The Simmons House at Greenwood Triangle to celebrate this incredible milestone and many of you brought items, keepsakes, and pieces of history to include in the time capsule. We will now be placing that 50-year time capsule at the Jack Wingate Outdoor Classroom, located across from the smokehouse and launch parking lot. This capsule will be opened again in 50 years, preserving a snapshot of our Chamber and community for the next generation to discover.

The items will be secured in a small vault generously donated by Bryant Funeral Home, and a permanent marker provided by Hall Monument Company will mark the site for years to come. The location sits on a hill that has never flooded when the Flint River rises, chosen with care to ensure all items remain safe.

We are excited to continue celebrating our 100 year anniversary and hope you’ll make plans to join us!
